HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (September 6, 2006) – Coinciding with the fall
launch of racetrack gaming in Broward County, key executives at each
of the county's four racinos will speak at the Oct. 16-17 Florida
Gaming Summit to discuss the opportunities and challenges of
introducing 6,000 slot machines into the market.
Veteran gaming analyst Lawrence Klatzkin, Managing Director at
Jefferies & Co., will moderate the hourlong panel, which includes:
▪ Daniel Adkins, Vice President, Mardi Gras Racetrack and Gaming
▪ Blake Cumbers, Vice President Development, Boyd Gaming Corp. (for
Dania Jai Alai)
▪ Paul Micucci, President and General Manager, Gulfstream Park
▪ Doug Shipley, Vice President and General Manager, Pompano Park
"The addition of slot machines will have a significant impact on the
operation and development of these four parimutuel facilities, as
well as a positive economic impact on the host communities. We will
examine their plans and analyze the critical issues ahead," Mr.
Klatzkin said.
The 2nd annual Florida Gaming Summit takes place at the Seminole
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino here. The conference kicks off with an Oct.
