James Allen, Steven Geller To Keynote Florida Gaming Summit

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (August 26, 2008) – The 4th annual Florida Gaming Summit will welcome keynote speakers James F. Allen and Steven A. Geller when it convenes October 6-7 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino here. Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Gaming Operations, for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Geller, a well-known Florida State Senator, will address hundreds of attendees at this popular event, including gaming operators, regulators, investors, tribal gaming leaders, attorneys, architects, vendors and other industry-related professionals.

“We are pleased to welcome back Jim Allen as a keynote speaker; obviously the Seminoles continue to play a major role in gaming in Florida,” said Joseph Weinert, Senior Vice President of Spectrum Gaming Group, co-producer of the Summit along with BNP Media. “And Sen. Geller has been a very strong legislative advocate of gaming as a revenue source and responsible public policy initiative. These two lead what is proving to be an outstanding speaker lineup at this year’s Summit.”

Some 20 industry experts have been confirmed as speakers, and the Summit has proven to be a popular forum to discuss the complex issues in one of the country’s most dynamic gaming markets.

Allen will serve as the keynote speaker the morning of Tuesday, October 7. He is a 27-year gaming industry veteran who developed and is responsible for the operations of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casinos in Hollywood and Tampa, Fla., and five other Seminole casinos in the state.

Geller will provide the luncheon keynote address at the Summit, also on October 7. He has served as a state Senator for ten years, including the past two as Senate Minority (Democratic) Leader. Previously, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, and he also held the role of President of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States for 12 years.
